August 30: Fresh pickerel in Kenora.

Kenora is a pleasant town with lots of waterfront.  It is also well cared for, and features some excellent murals depicting its extremely interesting history as a hub of the early fur trade.

Though this was a “housekeeping stop” (laundry, shopping, etc.), we enjoyed the day.   There was ho-hum wi-fi, and we caught up on the rest of the world, which, not surprisingly, had not changed much!

As is my custom, I chatted with some fellow “campers”, one of whom was going fishing.  I told him to catch a lot, and let us have some.   Amazingly, he did, and we dined on fresh pickerel, right out of the lake.  There’s more in the freezer.

Filled with gas and propane, and ready for the Prairies.
