Up to now, I have refrained from mentioning wildlife. But I did see a golden eagle and a harmless snake in the Agawa Canyon. A baby bear crossed the road, as did some deer. We saw several bald eagles, and the usual collection of chipmunks and red squirrels.
Then at Quetico we encountered some serious mosquitoes! We ate inside!
West again from Quetico, and along Highway 11 (Yonge Street … longest road in the world!) . Fort Frances is a pleasant town, but with lots of industry. Then north again through the astounding scenery of the “Lake of the Woods” to Kenora.
Following a recommendation from another traveler, we stayed in Acininabe campground, with a wonderful view of the lake.
