August 24: No swimming in Lake Superior yet.

No point in moving – Agawa camp site at Lake Superior Provincial Park darn near perfect.

Wandered over to the Visitor Centre, and asked for Anabel, who proved to be just as charming as her sister Candice, who can best be described as grandson Harley’s “significant other”.  We had hoped to treat her to our camp supper, but she had to prepare for a talk to the campers.  But it was great to meet her and exchange some family gossip.

Lake Superior was not warm, but our neighbour, George, went swimming.  He said the water was like Georgian Bay.  Hummm, Georgian Bay is not exactly toasty, so we refrained from fighting the waves.

George was a mine of information, and told us to stop off at Neys Provincial Park.  He warned us that the water was “a bit cold” there.  Anyway, we took his advice, and after another magnificent sunset, we headed North and West again.
